What happened
A group of Argentine programmers has developed a new utility for Counter-Strike 2 designed to streamline professional round analysis. Developer Ian Carruccio recently announced the project, named Similar Rounds, on the social platform X. The tool is specifically engineered to assist teams in identifying comparable scenarios from past professional matches, addressing a common gap in current preparation methods.
Why it matters
The software queries a database containing over 860,000 professional rounds to find situations that closely match a specific moment in a demo. Users can pause a match at any point and apply filters based on grenade usage, player counts, team economy, AWP presence, and round timing. Additionally, an automated mode allows the system to retrieve relevant examples within seconds, ensuring the results remain highly aligned with the original context.
What comes next
This innovation shifts the analysis process from relying on individual memory to utilizing a vast pool of verified professional examples. Coaches and players can now directly compare their performance against historical data, facilitating more structured breakdowns of common round situations. By replacing scattered notes with systematic comparisons, the tool offers a more consistent approach to strategic review for organizations of all sizes.
